GAME OF THE MONTH: ARK SURVIVAL EVOLVED

ARK: Survival Evolved has been one of the most revolutionary games to hit the multiplayer gaming space since June of 2015, and now they are gearing up to release their largest expansion yet, ARK: Genesis!

If you haven’t jumped on the ARK hype train yet, then now is a great time to get involved, and today we’re going to share with you all of the reasons why ARK is our Game of the Month!

Besides being able to tame (and ride) Dino’s with your friends, ARK provides players with a living, breathing world to explore that changes every minute, which keeps things just as fresh as your PC set up at home. The game can be played in either a third-person or first-person perspective giving you the freedom to play the way you do best.

In addition to that, players can use firearms and improvised weapons to defend against hostile humans and creatures, with the ability to build bases as a defense on the ground (and get this) on some creatures. So yes, cue the T-Rex with lasers that go pew pew pew fantasies.

One of our favorite mods for ARK will have to be Pokemon Evolved created by Mystic Academy. This mod gives you the ability to engage with the ever-growing world of Pokemon while exploring an ARK-like sandbox. Don’t believe us? See for yourself in their amazing gallery below!

First and foremost, have you scooped up a server yet? You can do so HERE. Once you’ve taken care of that step, you can begin thinking about how you’re gonna catch ’em all!

There are two ways to add mods to your server, manually or automatically. You will be using MCProHosting’s “ARK Mod Manager” tool to get mods added automatically.

Here’s how you can add ARK Mods using the “ARK Mod Manager” Tool

The Ark Mod Manager provided by MCProHosting is fully automated, making things ezpz lemon squeezy. To get started, we recommend that you take a backup before installing mods.

1. Go on your ARK server control panel. (You can access this once you pick up a server with us)
2. On your control panel, to the left click “ARK Mod Manager”.
3. In the “ARK Mod Manager”, use the “Search” function or look through the different mods we offer. Or you know, just type ‘Pokemon’ if you wanna be a Master.
4. If you wish to install a mod, next to that mod under “Actions” click “Install Mod” to install that mod.
   This will add that mod’s ‘mod ID’ into the Active Mods setting in your server’s GameUserSettings.ini file. (Confused? We got support on standby to help via Live Chat! Just click the chat bubble on the bottom-right hand side of the site)
5. Once you have installed all of the mods you wish to run on your server, click “Back” to exit the “ARK Mod Manager”.
6. Finally, on your control panel click “Restart” to restart your server.
   As your server comes online, those ARK mods you installed will load on your server. Like we said, ezpz, right? *Insert picture of Baby Yoda smiling*
