14 Amazing Things Coming to Minecraft in 2021 📅

Hello MCProHosting Community!

Did you catch last weekends Minecraft Live Event?! We did, and we are super hype about everything that we saw! (Except for maybe the Glow Squids, we can do without those 👀)

HERE’S 14 THINGS COMING TO MINECRAFT IN 2021 (SO FAR!)

1) Caves & Cliffs Biome Update

The Caves & Cliffs Update as it is now officially named comes with improved cave generation and features things like lush caves and dripstone caves. There will also be a brand new archeology system, which adds a very cool sense of history and storytelling element to the game.

2) Dripstone Caves

Dripstone Caves are the largest cave-type biome. They contain huge rivers. The origin of the name is the large amount of Dripstone. There are also speleothems, which fall when broken, and can deal damage to a mob when one falls on the other, sometimes lethal.

3) Copper Ore

Copper Ore is a new ore getting added to Minecraft 1.17. The introduction of Copper also introduces an “aging element” to the game, as dubbed by Mojang!

4) Lightning Rod

The Lightning Rod is a new item being added to Minecraft that is crafted using Copper ore (ingot).

5) Lush Caves

This biome has lot’s of lush scenery, such as a moss, new plant life, and water in the biome. This biome can allow a boat to be used, which makes exploring this biome, much easier. The biome is found below Azalea trees, and this makes finding the biome not as difficult. It is also the home of the axolotl.

6) Telescopes

The Telescope is an upcoming item to be added in the 1.17 “Caves and Cliffs” update. It will be crafted with crystal shards and copper and will allow the player to see far away through a circular lens.

7) Improved Cave Generation

Many a time, the Minecraft player has suggested to make improvements to the cave system, this update promises to do just that!

8) Amethyst Geodes

The Amethyst Geode (Structure) is found very rarely in some caves. It contains Amethyst Crystals and the Amethyst Geode block, which is unobtainable in non-cheats Survival Mode . Crystal Shards are dropped from these when, which can be crafted with copper to make a Telescope , although the crafting recipe has not yet been revealed.

9) Sculk Sensors

The skulk sensor is a new redstone block that will be released in the caves and cliffs update. It detects vibrations (walking, placing blocks, breaking blocks) and emits a redstone signal. This can be used for wireless redstone, as demonstrated in Minecraft Live 2020.

10) Goats

Goats will be found in the mountains biome. They’ll be able to ram entities far away and jump high into the air. Goats will often attack other mobs/players that they don’t like and knock them off of cliffs. If wearing Netherite Armor, the knockback you’ll take when they hit you will be reduced.

11) Archeological Excavations

Archeology is a feature in 1.17 – Caves and Cliffs, that allows players to find items with a brush. Not much else is known about this new feature but we look forward to sharing more details on it as soon as we learn more about it!

12) Axolotls

Axolotls are neutral mobs that attack other mobs and the player if attacked. Clicking on it with a Water Bucket will yield a Bucket of Axolotl. They can be found in lush caves!

13) Warden Mob

The Warden is the first blind mob added to the game. Instead of following the player normally, it uses the sculk-like sensors on its head to detect vibrations.

The best defense to use in order to avoid fighting a Warden is to sneak or throw projectiles such as snowballs to distract it.

14) Glow Squids

The Glow Squid is a variety of the squid that was first found in Minecraft Earth. It has a luminescent, glowing texture. This mob was one of the options in Minecraft Live 2020 to be added into the game, along with the Iceologer and Moobloom. It won the vote, and will be added in the 1.17 – Caves and Cliffs update.

BONUS) Bundles!

While everyone is going to end up calling them backpacks, bundles were announced as well in an effort to help organize your inventory! This was a highly praised feature that Minecraft enthusiasts have wanted for many years (much like the cave update!)
